For each professional in the U.S., there are four competitors in China and three in India. In order to understand the global marketplace, the unemployed, underemployed, and transitional workforce need a solid foundation and understanding of their transferable skills, knowledge of the global economic environment, and the willingness to become a lifelong learner in order to continually reinvent and transform themselves.

Companies understand this need in their personnel and seek it in their new-hires, but lack the in-house training capability to truly address these issues. Our educational system and community development programs are still coming to terms with the new, knowledge-based global economy, and are only just starting to realize the need to adapt to these changes.
